A place to sit by the window
A reading corner begins with comfort rather than furniture. Sit in the intended place for a few minutes and notice draughts, glare and the direction of daylight. A beautiful position may be difficult to use if the light falls directly into your eyes.
Move a chair and a lamp before buying anything. Keep a place for a book within easy reach and leave the walking route clear. In the evening, a shaded lamp can illuminate the page without lighting the whole room harshly.
The arrangement should be simple to maintain. A corner that takes a minute to put back in order is more likely to become part of an ordinary day.
